mainly in interventional nature while considering the important aspects of professionalism, ethical
behaviour and soft skills as well with proper objective measurement tools.

            Conclusions

A majority of studies have observed an impact of EI on academic performance of health sciences
undergraduates; however almost all the studies were cross sectional and considered only the

performance at a given time. Therefore, this association needs to be tested in larger samples followed
up for the entire period of study.
